but upon arrival, I was told check in was not until 4:00 p.m. We were told we could check in at 3:00 p.m. So, we drove from Memphis, TN to Metropolis, Il. Looking around we couldn't help but wonder how these people could afford to just give their money to this casino because that's exactly what you do. Thinking we would at least receive free drinks while gambling we ordered two beers only to hear 'that will be 9.56 (not exact change amount but it was almost 10.00). We are both cigar smokers but could not enjoy our stogies while we gambled. The Casino does not give you free drinks while you are gambling, and you cannot smoke in the casino. You still have to wear a mask and you have to scan your driver's license before you enter. The Casino staff treats you as if you're a moron. The room was as expected, and it was actually a nice room. While we didn't have an issue with our room, we did have issues elsewhere. Well, I have to say, the reviews are spot on. We read all the reviews before making our reservation and thought we would give it a try anyway because you just can't be sure about reviews sometimes. We were really interested in the Superman store but noticed there was a Harrah's casino.
